February 18, 200422 yr don't even expect a solution, it's too weird, but thought I'd share it with you. Flying from CYVR to KSEA, about 40 knots outside of KSEA, all of a sudden my speed goes full even though AP is set to 250 but my speed gauges, both the ones in the cockpit and the shift S where it shows on top of the screen, show 0 knots. It happens in different aircraft with different panels but only at that spot, no where else in the world. So I reload (I have autosave) and it's fine. Go figure...billg
February 18, 200422 yr Did your speed went to full on the airspeed indicator or it went back to the top of the gauge? This could be that you picked up some ice on the pitot thus making your airspeed read 0. Try turning the pitot heat on, this may take between 2 seconds to 2 minutes to make all the ice melt and get your airspeed indicator gauge functional again.
February 18, 200422 yr doh, pitot heat. Didn't think of that. I'll give it a try... :-)The gauge goes to 0, or maybe it's maxed out so shows 0, but I think it's 0 because the engines start to rev up. That could be it, ice in the pitot, so it shows 0 airspeed, so the autopilot compensates by giving it more throttle...thxbillg
