Reinstalling FS 2004.

Featured Replies

In FS2002,the user was able to delete and reinstall the basic software without losing any additional downloaded aircraft or scenery(downloaded off the internet from such sites as AVSIM)Does this also apply to FS2004?. The reason I am interested in the answer is that the current version of FS2004 is beginning to become rather erratic on my P.C.(i.e CTD on occasions and rather intermittent starts, with the screen flickering). Since I have approx 40 additional aircraft downloaded I am rather reluctant to remove and reinstall the lot!!. I may have to, of course as it may be one of the downloaded items that is causing the problem, but I found that in FS2002 a reinstall of the main software often affected a cure to such problems. Any advice would be appreciated,Cheers.

Still the same, but a backup is suggested!
