March 14, 200422 yr Hello all. Just bought and installed MSFS2004, and I'm very impressed. Two quick questions, if you don't mind:1) Can I start on the ramp, engine off when first starting the game?2) Where is the big Moffett hangar at Moffett field? Thanks in advance,Dan
March 14, 200422 yr Welcome Dan,"1) Can I start on the ramp, engine off when first starting the game?"Yep. Creat a flight at your chosen airport, then save it with the aircraft in a "cold and dark" state."2) Where is the big Moffett hangar at Moffett field?"Set your Scenery Complexity slider farther to the right (in the sim, click on Settings>Display> and the slider is then on the first page).Good luck and have fun,
March 15, 200422 yr Okay, Moffett is still missing the big hangar! With the density slider set all the way to the right, both of the "smaller" hangars (they're big in their own right) to the east of the runways are there. However, the singular, mammoth hanger which has been a landmark forever is not present. Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just an ommission on Microsoft's part?Dan
March 15, 200422 yr I wouldn't call it an omission on Microsoft's part. They've only put details in some airports, so the rest they use generic buildings. They've left a lot of things out as far as scenery for the sake of not wanting FS to require huge amounts of memory. One example is Devil's Tower. They don't have that in FS9.I wouldn't be surprised if you look around the AVSIM Library that someone has created scenery to include that hangar.
March 15, 200422 yr About starting out the sim with a cold and dark cockpit - if you want this to be the way of starting up every airplane both GE and bigger jets every time, just check the box that says "make this the default flight" underneath the savebox. That way, you dont have to load a certain situation manually each time :)
