March 23, 200422 yr In FS2002 on the instrument panel you can set the simulation rate to .5x, 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, etc. Is there a way to set it to 3x?Thanks
March 23, 200422 yr I'm using FS2002 for a project. I'm afraid the 4x is a little too fast and no one will be able to do the task.
March 23, 200422 yr Well, as far as I know, there is no way to change the rate. Not sure there is all that much difference between 2X, 3X and 4X. What is the project?
March 23, 200422 yr flygirl, you're the one who posted some time ago asking about saved flights, right? i don't know how to answer your current question for 2002, but in 2004 you can do it like this:using your notepad, open the FLT file of the saved flight. replace the line that reads "SimSpeed=001.00" with "SimSpeed=003.00". when you open the flight in the sim, it will be running at 3x. r+ will keep doubling through 6x, 12x etc. r- will revert to 1x, but it will remember to go 3-6-12 if you start speeding up again.you can use any real number there: 002.50 will give you 2.5x, 5x, 10x; 003.50 will give 7x, 14x... the fractional part will not be displayed on screen though.hope it helpsvilk
March 23, 200422 yr I created a course of "gates" in the sky. People have to fly through it as close to the center of the gate as possible. I am changing two variables: simulation rate and adding various levels of crosswind to make it more difficult. This is for a masters degree.Christine
March 23, 200422 yr Thanks for the info. That's exactly what I needed to know. I may have to buy FS2004 if the 4x doesn't work for me. Yep, that was me before. :)Christine
March 24, 200422 yr Hey VilkWhere the h@ll did you ever find that bit of information? Is there a MSFS Technical Trivia Forum that I'm not aware of?Just kiddingDavid
