Those pesky helicopters

Featured Replies

Are there any good tutorials for newbies on how to hover and land helicopters in FS2004?I seem to be getting very good at crashing.Dan

Hi,Two areas you might like to take a look at. First is the Helicopter forum right here on Avsim. You can find it here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=152Second area is HoverControl. Jordan has a website with an enormous ammount of information on Helis and all things associated. You can find HoverControl here:http://www.hovercontrol.comHope these two areas help you. But the only real way your going to learn is by practice. And then you practice some more.... and then some more... and.. .yep.. Practice some more!! After a while you will start to get the hang of it. Also, if you havent already got them, a good set of pedals will help a great dealRgdsAidihttp://www.vfr-flightcenter.com/avsim_sig.jpg

Have you adjusted your realism sliders to the left a bit ?There have been posts in here by RL rotorcraft pilots that say the real rotorcraft fly easier than in the sim at full realism. Some have suggested all sliders to the right except the general setting. Move it to the midway point until you feel better then slowly slide it to the right. I fly with my general setting at the 80% mark or so.Hope this helps :)

Thanks guys!I'll start reading up and practicing.Dan

Book marked that page, thanks!Dan
