Who would you fly?

Featured Replies

Hi all Just got this kernal of an idea from another thread.Just think about this a moment, you are the FP of your favourite plane, you have the opportunity to fly anybody from history, past or present to your favourite destination, who would you most like to put in first class.Me, this is easy, only one man, who I had the chance to meet some years back here in Cardiff.Nelson MandelaI would stick him in the PMDG 737 and take him to Kingston Jamaica, the birthplace of that other great man, my father.Wycliffe

and here is mIster Mandela outside Cardiff City hall just before I shook hands with him.see attached fileWycliffe

Wow thats nice picture and must've been great beeing just in his presence :)The person I would most enjoy beeing private pilot for a day for (besides Carmen Electra) would have to be Leonardo da Vinci. Just to show him how his flying ideas have developed.I am sure he would absolutely love it. He is also the person in history I would like to meet in general if I could pick anyone.I would then ask him if its really true that the Mona Lisa as well as the Shroud of Turin really was his self portraits :D

Hi All Just realised something looking atthe picture again. The white guy offering his hand to Nelson Mandela is not me I was taking the photo and then he shook my hand. It was a warm May day here in Cardiff and Mandela was doing a walkabout, there must have been several thousand people in the crowds but everybody was just smiling, when Mandela walked past you could almost feel his presence.Anyway see attached of me Wycliffe

Yeah - Nelson Mandela would be a good choice.BTW, I manage to speak to him too as he left the Park Hotel (possibly the same day!). No pic though :-(Cheers,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/cin.gifwww.bavirtual.co.uk/cin.htm - please give generously!!Officially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logo[p]AMD XP2800+ Barton, Gigabyte GA-7NNXP nForce2, 1Gig Crucial PC3200 DDR 400MHz, Gainward 128 MB GF4-4200, SB Audigy, 3 x WD Caviar SE[/p]

What a coincidence does this mean you live in Cardiff. I think your right it was the same day. The walkabout outside City hall was an extra one that his people put in.As I work for the county council we all recieved an email giving us advance notice of the walkabout.CoolWycliffe

Yes - live in Cyncoed. Was rather a coincidence at the time too. I was waiting for my wife to come out of Next on Queen Street, and since I absolutely loathe shopping generally I was ambling up and down the street with the kids. Saw a large press pack gathered outside the Park and just went for a little investigation when out Mr Mandela pops!...small world! :-)Cheers,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/cin.gifwww.bavirtual.co.uk/cin.htm - please give generously!!Officially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logo[p]AMD XP2800+ Barton, Gigabyte GA-7NNXP nForce2, 1Gig Crucial PC3200 DDR 400MHz, Gainward 128 MB GF4-4200, SB Audigy, 3 x WD Caviar SE[/p]

back to the top, might get some more posts as the reat of the world is now awake.Wycliffe

I laugh when I think of two "guests" on flights I'd taken. On one, Pete Rose was sitting up in first class on I flight I took into Florida back in '93... Poor guy was bugged by everyone, whereas I left him alone. On another--one where I'd been bumped into first class, Dave Thomas of Wendy's fame was sitting in the adjacent row.As to who I'd choose, that would be tough. President Putin of Russia would be one man I would love to speak with. I still predict Russia will become the diplomatic power of the world--they have been through so much as a country, and have been on the frontline of both change and terror long before we felt it here in the U.S. We could learn a lot from them, and I suspect that is the role they will play.A funny story--I was in Dulles some seventeen years ago waiting for a flight to SFO, and quite lost in a book when some very annoying cigar smoke came wafting through the non-smoking area I was in. I was turning around, poised for battle, when I discovered the owner of the cigar was sitting next to me and was none other than Danny Thomas. I went back to reading my book.Hope this thread doesn't go over to hangar chat too soon. Just to give it some tie to MSFS, I would choose first class in POSKY's 742 for my fantasy flight with President Putin.-John

Definitely Donald Trump in any Eaglesoft jet. I don't care if he's got a 727, he'd still appreciate it.Eric

This thread has got the makings of a good one just need to keep the FS( tie in, ok so who would be next on my list.Kim Basinger, destination Cuba, plan, 737 PMDG NG (the sand there is just so fine, it's like walking on salt)I think I would take her to the Tropicana Club for rum and salsa.Wycliffe
