April 1, 201214 yr Hi community,Just need a littel help please. I am about to purchase a computer (on a budget) and I play FSX, but I don't know if the video cards will be good or not. The system is an i5 which has been overclocked, with 4Gb of RAM and 1 ATI HD6770 and 1 ATI HD5770 1 Gb cards in Crossfire. Will this run the sim OK, or will I regret it?Thanks,Andrew. Kind regards, Andrew.
April 1, 201214 yr DO NOT buy ATI (which is now called AMD) cards for FSX! They have some problems and glitches with their shaders and drivers in FSX. First of all they don't perform as well, their shaders can cause low FPS in clouds, it's got problems with Anti Aliasing. So no, do not get an AMD card. And btw, you can put a 6770 and 5770 in Crossfire because it's not the same videocard! And also, FSX does not support Crossfire or SLI. If you have the money, I'd wait a few months, you'll not regret it, believe me. Because Ivy Bridge is just around the corner. For a graphics card I would wait too, until someone has tested a GTX 680 with a Z77 PCI 3.0 motherboard, and overclocked Ivy Bridge processor. If you really can't wait, get an NVIDIA GTX 560Ti 1GB, which will perform exactly the same as the GTX 580, believe me, I have tested this myself! If you play other games too, I recommend getting a GTX 580 1.5 GB.But as I said, my best suggestion is wait for Ivy Bridge and see how that will perform with a GTX 680. Arjen Vandervelde

I have an ATI HD6970 and I honestly don't know what you're talking about. I can only talk for the HD 6970 as I did not use any other ATI (AMD) model but as far as the 6970 is concerned I DO NOT experience those so called shader glitches or AA problems you mention... my 2 cents Thibault Dosunmu
