April 17, 200422 yr Hi all ...I've got just a little (big ?) problem with the Tupolev Tu-154b2 v9.2 of Project Tupolev (not the one with the VC from Tibor Kikai ...).In fact, I can't fly with the joystick : When I put any axis to the maximum, it seems to come back to initial position in the game ...I think that's due to the joystick's special features of this aircraft (because everything works with other aircraft), so I thought someone would be able to help me here ...Thank you very much,
April 18, 200422 yr Hi,you need to deactivate your Joystick axes in FS and use the Joystick setup in the Tu-154 Panel (Shift-7). Did you try the instruction in the english tutorial ?Let me know if anything might be not clear, we can go through it step by step then. It's really worth it, because they simulate a lot of Tu-154 specific details with the custom Joystick setup.Mike
April 18, 200422 yr Hello,And thank you for having answered my question.Yes I have read the english tutorial and have tried to set the Shift+7 panel ... but there's a problem:When I desactivate the joystick axes (in controls/assignements/joystick/delete axes), the white switch on the circular display of the shift+7 panel doesn't move anymore, but the two little yellow and white indicators move with the joystick ... (have a look at the picture)Second problem, on the english tutorial the boxes "коэфф передачи" and "Чентрoвка" are non-active (grey), but by me there is "NO" written ... why ???Thank you very much,
April 18, 200422 yr Hi,you need to find out the axis code until you get the appropriate reaction. Example for the Aileron : Try 11 or 12 or 13 or 14 (depends on stick) until you get the appropriate response and then hit the "store" button. Then move on to elevator, then to throttles, etc. and repeat the procedure.Example for a Mocrosoft Sidewinder Pro Stick :Aileron = 11Elevator = 12Ruuder = 14Throttle 1 = 13Throttle 2 = 13Throttle 3 = 13>> on the english tutorial the boxes "коэфф передачи" and "Чентрoвка" are non-active (grey), but by me there is "NO" written ... why ???That's Ok so far. The english tutorial was for Version 9.0. Now it's 9.2, I need to update the tutorial. But the basic setup hasn't changedWhat kind of stick are you using ?Mike
April 18, 200422 yr Hi,Thank you very much for your answer.I'm using a Sidewinder Precision Pro Koystick ... but I'll try what you said and I'll see.Thank you,
April 18, 200422 yr Hi,I've tried what you said, but it doesn't work. The default settings of the shift+7 panel are the ones you gave me for my joystick, but even if I change them, it doesn't work.I really don't know what to do and I really want to fly this awesome aircraft ...Thank you,
April 18, 200422 yr That's weird. The routine just reads out all Joystick stuff directly from Windows. Do you have all your stick axes correctly displayed in Control Panel/Game Controller/Properties ?I have no idea what could cause this, maybe you can contact the team directly at their Forum (you can also post questions in english) :http://www.avsim.ru/forum/index.php?showforum=54Or contact Mike Savchenko at cooler2k(@)pisem.net (remove the brackets from the Email adress).Mike
April 18, 200422 yr The major change in version 9.2 from 9.1 is in that Shift + 7 instrument. You are no longer required to delete these axis, but instead you should DEACTIVATE THE JOYSTICK USING CTRL + K.Than move on to assign the axis as per Mikes suggestion. Also, make sure you have installed it in the right order 9.0-->9.1-->9.2leave the coefficients and the other tunings values as they are, this will give you the most realistic behaviour.in 9.2 the hat switch views are also assigned from that instrument, the views would usually have 2x designation.Don't give up on this one, eventually it will work and it's well worth it!!!If you have any more questions then by all means feel free to ask!Mikealpha, sometime soon a "NVU tutorial for the beginner" is supposed to come out, maybe we could join forces in translating this one once it's out?//Michael
April 19, 200422 yr Hi Michael,>> maybe we could join forces in translating this one once it's out?Sounds like a plan ;)Mike
April 19, 200422 yr >>Sounds like a plan ;)Sure is!!!I thought at first to follow up on your effort and try to translate the bit about NVU navigation and RSBN correction but I found the russian version of the manual a bit confusing (and judging by the number of russians who got it wrong, it's not just because of the limitation of my language).Hopefuly that tutorial will uncover the mystery behind one of the major highlights (and snags) of operating this excellent rendition for the 154.//Michael

April 20, 200422 yr Michael, yeah, that NVU stuff is really challenging, I have spend weeks with dictionaries and online translators to sort it out. Works like a charm, although I'm not sure I have discovered all the details yet. I also don't feel qualified to explain it. Maybe how to use it, but not the background, so the tutorial you mentioned will be great of course.I'm flying the TU-154 *only* for almost three months now with many more to come. For me it's the best jet ever made for FS, the number of flight relevant details and the entire atmosphere is soooo amazing. Not even payware jets can beat that ;).Mike
