April 28, 200422 yr This is something that has been bugging me. I have the time set to system clock, but half the time when I open the sim, it's set to some other time. It's like FS uses my system time as GMT.Is there any freaking way to fix this? I would like FS to use my system time and time zone, and match up where I am flying. So if it's 5:00 ET, it's actually 5 ET in the game! And if I transport to San Francisco, it would be 2:00 in the game.
April 28, 200422 yr Set yourself up at your preferred hometown starting airport. For less system activity and load times, use a default airport and a default plane, like the Cessna. Place yourself wherever in the airport, gate, parking etc. Do not load any weather, make sure it's clear. Do not load any AI traffic. By loading as little as possible on initial startup, your sim will run much better and load up faster. Check your time, if it's off, set it as close as possible to the exact time it is where you are to the second if possible (few seconds off is ok). Make sure USE SYSTEM TIME is selected in your preferences menus. Now go to SAVE FLIGHT, give it a title of STARTUP, and select MAKE THIS THE DEFAULT FLIGHT. Close the sim. Now reload. You should be where you left off at, at the correct time. Each time you now load the sim, you'll be at your correct time and whenever you move to another location, the time will correctly adjust. So let's say you start in the US and it's morning, when you move to Europe, it will be evening etc.Using the Real Time add-ons is fine for long flights, or for occasionally checking and making adjustments, but if you like to do replays of your flights at whatever stages, the replay will not work because the Real ime program is forcing the sim to maintain the correct time. Disable, or turn off Real Time to do replays.
