FS2004 Failures

Featured Replies

Help! I consider myself a reasonably competent Flight Simmer and have used all versions of the program (note, not 'game')since FS1. I have downloaded a huge number of files and currently have about 1.5gbt of aircraft, scenery etc.I recentlt suffered from a hard drive failure and had to reinstall all of my backed up files. Since then I have been 'tweaking' various features and only started 'flying' again relavively recently. I am now sufferong inexplicable total electrical failures. They did not happen in the past and I suspect they are the result of a form of virus I have picked up during a download. Despite clearing the checkbox in the Aircraft/Failures/Electrical menu box, the electrics fail again after about 10min.Can anyone out there point me to the dodgey file?

No offence but are you turning on your generators after start-up? Ctrl-e does not do that for you and your battery will die in about that amount of time. I know you probably don't forget to do that but sometimes it is the little things. Other than that I don't know much about programming. Cheers!

Yes, sounds like you've loaded a flight that didn't have the battery or generator on. Try creating a new flight, engines running, with a default aircraft.Allcott

The same thing happened to me recently on a flight from KMSP to KCOS ina A319... no radios, AP, etc. But my GPS continued to function so I was able to complete the flight, landing using VASI.Next flight, I noticed the generators weren't turned on. I turned them on... VOILA!... everything worked fine.Hope your solution is this simple.Alex M.NWVA 0174
