Help! FS9 crashing at loading screen suddenly!

Featured Replies

OK I changed nothing, worked fine last night and my first flight tonight. Suddenly today the game crashes when the loading menu gets to "adjusting scenery objects" and crashes on 68%... whats wrong! I took out my fs9.cfg file and that still didn't fix it. Help! p4 3.2 1 gb ddr 3200 ram win xp sb audigy 2 platinum ex 250 gb hard drive fx5950 ultra w/ latest nvidia drivers

Please try this....Edit your FS9.cfgSearch for this line:TrafficDensity=Make it read:TrafficDensity=0Then try to start MSFS. If it starts, then the problem may have something to do with your AI (this cfg tweak basically turns AI off) -John

Greetings.Did you recently add any scenery of any kind? - Matt D.

adjusting traffid doesn't help, but yes, I installed a few scenery add-ons, but that was a week ago. Should I just delete everything from the addon scenery directory and then just try it? Anything to do with the autogen file maybe as well? I'm going to give it a try after work again today, its very frustrating and I really don't want to reinstall and loose all my airplanes, ai traffic, scenery, and texture files

There is a small program named scanafd here in avsim. Download that and install it. It checks for duplicate AFCAD2 files. If you have any delete one, not the one in FS9addon sceneryscenery. thats the right one. Another thing that will cause this is a FX file. If you installed a scenery lately that has an FX file.... just rename the bgl to a bak. then try it again. Any scenerys can cause this, if there is a fx file in it... Joe W..
