May 8, 200422 yr Hi guys,I havn't been around a lot lately. Was too busy with the conversion of my cockpit to FS9. The right monitor is a touchscreen, which is so cool. You have most of the avionics functions literally at your fingertips. and you don't have to worry about developers doing stuff outsde FS as you can directly work the panel. To switch the functions of the Reality-XP stuff by touching the actual "buttons" is so great. After month of tweaking I finally have a lot of fun with FS9.Cheers,AlexP.S.: I hope this post works now. Guess I have a cookie problem.
May 8, 200422 yr John,I've been here all the time, only very quiet..I was having a hard time with my hobby. When FS9 came out I had a perfectly working setup for FS2K2. With FS9....nothing worked. FPS were a desaster with 3 monitors running, I had crashes, the weather wouldn't work as I expected. all that hardware, all that work for nothing. At the same time everyone was elaborating how fantastic FS9 is and all. I became completely frustrated and started #### over FS9 all the time, while actually it was my setup which was the problem. After some time I realized that I was spilling my frustration all over these forums, which wasn't fair at all to the people who had fun and wanted to enjoy the sim. So I simply kinda dropped out for a while. I am back for good. Thanks, for the nice welcome buddy.Alex
May 8, 200422 yr Nice job Alex! I have a question for you regarding the touchscreen though. I have multiple monitors too and bought a touchscreen overlay (Magicscreen) to put on the second monitor much as you have. The problem is the PC only seems to recognize mouse movements on the primary monitor. That is to say as I touch the screen on the second monitor the cursor is moving on the primary one. Does that make sense? How did you get around this? ThanksDavid
May 8, 200422 yr David, like always it all depends on the rivers. I have an Elo Touchscreen (http://www.elotouch.com/), and they provide a driver for multiple monitors. They have a little calibration software, that you can jump from one monitor to the next with. It is even possible to have multple touchscreens. It came out 2 days before I bought the monitor. Your best move would be to contact Magiscreen if they provide a driver with multi monitor support. If not I am afraid there is little to nothing you could do.I was very lucky with the touchscreen as I got it from e-bay for the price of a normal LCD. It is an industrial version without housing (which would have been of no use to me anyway :-)). These things normally cost a fortune. But sometimes you can get them cheap e.g. when they are from internet terminals that are no longer in use. Good luck,Alex
