May 13, 200422 yr I am interested in reducing the size of some of my aircraft textures. Mainly the AA IFDG MD-11, and which I love but becomes a pain in the neck every time I try to spot view the plane.I got DTXbmp, but I don't find any tutorial, and all the information I see in their web is too technical for my poor knowledge. So far the only thing I have been able to do is to open a texture with this program. Can anyone tell me if there's a tutorial for dummies? or at least if you feel like doing it and have a couple of minutes can you give a couple of hints on how to use it?Thanks a lotLeo
May 13, 200422 yr It's a pretty simple program to use. Click on the Help tab and it'll take you to the internet help site. Basically, you click the file tab/extended image and open the file. Then save it as a DXT3 texture(click on lower left 2nd folder). Pic follows. If you want mips, the program automatically adds them when you save. If you do not want mips, click on the preference tab and uncheck mips. If you want to paint, open the extended image and save as a 24bit. When you're done, open the 24bit by clicking on the file tab/normal image and saving as a DXT3. I copy the texture folder that I want to convert to the desktop and work on it from their. Much less confusing that way. http://www.x-plane.org/users/mgdbottled/DXTBmp.jpg
May 13, 200422 yr Hey, Bigshot, you are a bigshot!!!Thanks!!!It looks pretty simple now. Although I have already tried it, I haven't checked how do the repaint perform in FS yet, but I assume it will work well.Leo
