May 16, 200422 yr Hi,I somehow corrupted my FS installation. I had a few crashes during some overclock experiments and FS is little offended since then. But as most of the program is running fine, and I have this myriads of tweaks addons and little changes I'd hate a reinstall. Two strange things are going on:1. When I chosse "select a flight" FS crashes. When I directly double click a FLT file everything works fine. The installation path in the registry is ok btw.2. When I put on the battery after a certain time the avionics master switch switches in the on position completely by itself. It also refuses to go back in the off position no matter what. I have to turn off the battery to turn of the avionics. This happens with all planes, even default. I am not sure but I guess it happens only in the VC.Needless to say that I have rebuilt my FS9.cfg already, that does not help.Any other ideas?Alex
May 16, 200422 yr Alex, what about trying without any hardware devices connected to compare? (things such as goflight?) They are controling some of these I think and maybe you have an issue related?!? at least this should help ensuring if this as any side effect in your current system setup state?Hope this helps!
May 16, 200422 yr Jean Luc,I found the reason for the odd avionics master behaviour is the projectmagenta GAIFR panel. It is somehow interfering with its own ideas.Regarding the odd behaviour when "select a flight" I still have no idea.Alex
May 16, 200422 yr it may be crashing on clicking the flight selection button, because the flight you last selected got corrupted: usually the aircraft or some part thereof (gauge, effect, etc.), possibly also scenerytry moving all flights from "Flights" and from "Flight Simulator Flights" to some temporary location somewhere else, then start fs and click "Select A Flight". if it shows you an empty list without crashing, fs is healthy, but some flights are not.
