May 27, 200422 yr I just got a new PC and I'm migrating everything to the new machine. Suddenly, my aircraft's reflective textures are showing up in the sim as semi-transparent instead of solid. The Lear 45, my PMDG American Airlines 738. The problem is universal. In other words, my American Airlines 737-800 is showing the gear bays and wheels through the skin of the plane. I don't get it. I couldn't find a thing on any forums.DaveP4 3GHz1 GB RAMWindows XPGeForce 5200 (with the very latest detonator drivers)
May 27, 200422 yr What do you call the latest drivers? The GF5200 has not been a highly praised card for flight sim - I have one. It's inexpensive for 128MB but it has its deficiencies.Although this could sound like a hardware problem and be shifted to that forum, I think it might be valuable information to a lot of users (TOM, Bear are two who have (had?) 5200s).The early 5x.xx drivers work reasonably fast but with limits to display - including not being able to use the checklist dialog. The later 56? show the box but can hang for a minute when accessing menu bar, right clicking.I have never used Beta drivers until suggested last week - the LATEST? was 60.12 on guru3D from a french site - this driver seems to cure both these problems and have apparently better image to me ( at a loss of maybe 1 fps on my machine - P1V 1.7GHz )Check out the hardware forum for a MUCH more informed discussion.Ben
May 27, 200422 yr The latest drivers are what is at nvidia.com and listed as the latest detonator release (not beta). I'm not sure, but it's the detonator driver that came out a month ago or so.
