June 3, 200422 yr When flying the 1900 with hotseat I'm having a problem with the initial cruising altitude. It says the aircraft does not have the climb performance to reach crusing altitude unless I set a value of 1000 feet or so.Any fixes ?Cheers
June 3, 200422 yr Hi! Glad to see another FSHotseat user :)In order to fix the problem described, open FSHotseat and then start Flight Sim. Load the PMDG B1900 aircraft then Alt-Tab back to FSHotseat. Click the AC Button on the right side. This brings up the Aircraft Specs page. A few lines down you will see the line Best Vert Speed (right below Cruise Speed). Click in this field and change the default Vert Speed from 100fpm to something more realistic for this airplane (I use 1000fpm for any non-default aircraft with more than 500 hp). You will have to exit FSHotseat AND Flight Sim in order to 'see' the changes. This will allow FSHotseat to calculate the altitude and time-to-altitude it allows for your flight plan. Good luck!!
June 3, 200422 yr Great ! Thanks for the help. Yeah Hotseat is excellent. I've seen people saying they prefer FDC but I've gone the other way. My FDC is now sitting on the shelf and I just use Hotseat.Cheers
June 4, 200422 yr Glad I could help. FDC is a good product but, in my humble opinion, FSHotseat is better because 1) easy to install-setup-use 2) mp3 player 3) works with almost any aircraft. FSHotseat is quick to install and setup and works with all aircraft without messy configuration. This is a benefit but also a drawback. FDC is much harder and more involved as far as setup is concerned, however it is more 'realistic' because it becomes customized for each aircraft. FSHotseat is more 'generic' in this regard (thus simplier to setup). Overall, I use FSHotseat all the time and it works great for me. FDC might be more realistic but I'm not that concerned. I could have used Radar Contact v3 but I didn't want to deal with ALL that realism :) Good luck!!
