June 7, 200421 yr Does anyone know where I can get a F-111(any variety) of reasonable quality for FS2002/4? Freeware if poss.If possible with variable geometry wings. I'm not to worried how fancy it is as long as it's reasonably accurate in size as it will probably bo only taxied not flown.I need it for testing a scenery project and so far the only one I can find is for Xplane.Dave
June 7, 200421 yr Hi,I may be wrong but if you mean a F-117 and not F-111 thenSee the Link Belowhttp://www.simviation.com/fs2004military19.htmIf its what your looking for then I hope you enjoy it.Jason
June 7, 200421 yr >If possible>with variable geometry wings. >>DaveI think Dave does mean the F-111 becaue of the above description. There's one being done by www.alphasim.co.uk (General Dynamics F-111 set) but it's a WIP(Work In Progress). Of course it won't be freeware, and it's been a WIP for quite a while. So I'm wondering when it might be completed. I've been looking forward to the alphasim one.For FS2002 and FS2004FB-111A - "Spirit of the Seacoast", "Sleepy Time Gal", "Net Results", "Strange Cargo Tiger Meet '87" F-111F - "Miss Liberty II"F-111G - "Boneyard Wrangler", "6th sqn 60th anniversary" F-111A VietnamEF-111A Spark VarkRegards,Jim
June 7, 200421 yr You right Jim- that's what I'm after.Got a very crude( by todays standards and sincere apologies to whoever made it) one for FS2000 here but FS9 doesn't really like it all that much and keeps on complaining about it each time I use it.It really makes you realise how our expectations have changed since the FS98/2000 daysNever mind - it 'll have to do till something better comes along.Cheers and thanksDave
June 8, 200421 yr Have hope, Dave. I've been pining for the Gmax F-111 by Alphasim for a year and a half, now. The bloke who started the project discovered he had created a time-consuming monster and kept delaying release. Finally, he altogether quit the project and was about to dump everything at the beginning of this year. After some whining by dedicated F-111 fans (myself included), he generously handed his files over to the guys at Alphasim and work has progressed steadily since then. (Though it still has a ways to go.)You might want to visit the forums at http://www.alphasim.co.uk/main.htmlRemember, good things come to those that whine...er, I mean, wait. - Matt D.
June 8, 200421 yr Dave,Stop by this site http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds/main/menuchoo.htmand you will find some Aardvarks. (F-111s) Be advised though that it takes forever to log on if you do not pay for the premium service and once in, their down loads are at or below dial-up speeds. There was however several models of the F-111. They had a Raven (EF-111), F-111E, F-111F (both stationed in your part of the world.Sadly though most of these models were designed for FS98, 2000 and maybe one or two for FS2002. Nothing for FS2004 specifically.Hope this helps,TerryF-111D Sim Tech, Ret
June 9, 200421 yr Thanks to all who replied- I guess "patience is a virtue" applies here and sooner or later we'll see a nice F111 for FS2004( probably around the time we all change to FS2006!)Dave
