June 8, 200421 yr If you have one photoscenery over an area and one landclass and one mesh scenery over the same area. What order or priority should they have in the scenery.cfg to avoid conflicts with other scenerys.I think its first the scenery as number 1 and second the landclass as number 2 and finally the mesh as number 3. Is it right?Thomas BESNN
June 8, 200421 yr Hi,landclass in scenery/base/scenerymesh in scenery/world/sceneryphotoreal in addon scenery (separate entry in your scenery.cfg)no problems with these settingsHope it's right this way ...
June 8, 200421 yr Hi Thomas,Your approach is much better. Scenery precedence is handled the same way in FS9 as it was in FS2002; the layer having the higher Priority (where 1 is highest) in the Scenery Library dialog box will have precedence.Mesh precedence is handled very differently in FS9. Placing all the mesh bgl files in one folder means you lose all control over which mesh is actually used. I have a detailed description of how mesh precedence is determined at:www.fs-traveler.com/priority.shtmlRegards,Steve
June 8, 200421 yr I also have many sceneries outside FS9. Some in addon scenery, (autoinstalled), others even in a second HD. Whether you put your photoreal scenery in addon scenery or elsewhere, it's the same (at least I did'nt notice any difference). As for mesh and landclass, if you put them in scenery-world-scenery and base scenery, they always get priority over addon scenery or elsewhere.Given the fact that I don't have many mesh sceneries (FSG or LAGO), and they don't overlap, so no problems hereregards
