June 14, 200421 yr Hi y'all, I'm using FS9 and have a bunch of various planes that I've accumulated for FS9. Most of them work correctly when I talk w ATC which identifies me with the airliner name. I'm having a problem with a couple of B737-300's. I have 3 of them listed in my aircraft config file, but only the 1st one is being identified by it's airline(american), the other 2 are only being identified by their flight number(1957). I've listed the aircraft config file below (minus the specs which arent relevant to the problem). Any help would be greatly appreciated. June 14, 200421 yr The last two aren't listed in the airlines.cfg found at C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9AircraftSouthwest Air will have to be "SOUTHWEST"United Shuttle will have to be "UNITED"This is all dependent on your using EditVoicePack, a free program that will update your airlines.cfg. plus you can make new voice files for the ones that haven't been done yet. It's very easy with a little preliminary reading.http://bevelstone.xs4all.nl/FlightSimulator/EditVoicepack/
June 14, 200421 yr Thanks for your help, Brent. I tried with the names you gave me and it worked.I had downloaded an "updated" aircraft config file awhile back which had the airlines I was using. Apparently that updsted list wasn't correct. Is it possible if you could copy n paste that list on a reply message so I can make an aircraft.cfg file out of it? Thanks again.:) Take care..Yoram
June 14, 200421 yr Yoram, I could print out the extended airlines.cfg for you, but it still wouldn't work without the voice files being inserted to FS2004/FS2002 which is what EditVoice pack will do for you in addition to updating your airlines.cfg. The updated list you installed from the library is probably correct as far as airlines FS will recognize if the voice file is there. FS can't "speak" a sound that isn't included with the default. That's where EditVoicepack comes in. Even if you don't wish to create any new airline name voicepacks for FS, EditVoicepack will set you up with hundreds of airline choices. Make a copy of your original airlines.cfg and save to a safe place (just in case). Download EditVoice pack and install per instructions. Start EditVoicepack and wait for everything to load up. It should do an auto update that will take a little time to download all the updates (if it doesn't go auto, select FileUpdate Voicepack). When it says "Ready" then go to ToolsUpdate airlines.cfg. Close and start FS. All your airlines should be there!Hope this helps you get on the right track.
June 15, 200421 yr Thanks very much for your time and help. I'll try out the Voicepack. Best regards :)
