June 14, 200421 yr when downloading real world weather today it gave me 50 miles visibility when at that time the visibilty was 10 miles. happened twice. also if i change only the visibility in the user defined area after downloading real weather it seems to alter some other settings as well. is this normal and am i supposed to clear the weather before downloading real weather? i'm also having a HARD time trying to make a level 20 degree turn in the default baron. i can do it in the cessna 182, no problem but the baron is giving me a fit! i don't chase the needles but can't seem to keep the AI from jumping around. it will bob up and down, very sensitive or to sensitive. i've moved my sensitivty setting to the left but doesn't help much. tried different speeds and wondered if that might have someting to do with it. different speed settings for different turns? or is it just the flight model itself, not done right? thanks for any advice.oh yea, i've tried different trim settings too even though you're not supposed to trim for a turn. thought that might have something to do with it but doesn't seem so. william
June 15, 200421 yr It might help the weather situation if you try to make a point of deleting temporary internet files in Internet Explorer. That would then hopefully force the only file that should then exist ie. the newly downloaded one. However if that doesn't make any difference I don't know anything else you could try, nor do I know the answers to some of your questions. Perhaps someone else could help in that case. I don't fly the Baron as a rule but I just tried and slewed up to 10000 feet, then flew. I found it difficult to keep the desired altitude in a turn and have come to the conclusion that the elevator control might be too sensitive. There might be a reason for this but it made it quite difficult for me to control. I found that the wings were trying to level and needed an amount of constant side force on the stick to keep the turn angle as I wanted it. It also was difficult to gain much speed but I only tried very quickly to see what you were describing.
June 15, 200421 yr thanks charlie. i'll try deleting the internet temp files and other things there. i used to do that all the time but forgot all about it til now. i tried something before work this morning with the baron. if i slow down a bit to around 150 knots or less it sure makes turning level alot easier. almost right on the money. could be i was going to fast for a 20 degree level turn. there could be other things involved but i have no idea what. i know in a car you need to slow down for certain turns but not sure how it works in a plane. hopefully someone will enlighten us. thanks for the help. william
June 15, 200421 yr Hey William,Go here and ask Steve Small for his .air file he created for the Baron that makes it flyable. I believe he also has one for the default KingAir.http://www.fsd-international.com/dc/dcboar..._topics&forum=1
June 15, 200421 yr thanks buggabee. i will try posting in the flight school forum and see if i can find out what the deal is with it. if i can't get it to fly right then i'll talk to steve. i thought i had it down with the slower speeds but just did some testing and am not a happy camper. thanks for the link. william
June 16, 200421 yr am experimenting with the rudder and am seeing some amazing results. maybe there's nothing wrong with the flight model at all, just me. william
