Lost my External view in Active Camera

Hi All,Last night I tried to use my "external" camera view in Active camera.I could not get it to work, all that happen was it lost the VC when I ticked the external option, and could not pan or move around.When I unchecked the external option I could again look around the VC, but no matter what I do, I cant get the external camera option in Active Camera to work.Any Ideas?CheersDan.
