Win 7/64 bit ..Wilco 777 for FS9/FSX

Featured Replies

Recently purchased this add on (Wilco 777) and installed to FS9 and X. All workrd well until I installed additional liveries.

Problem developed is no gauges in either.

Uninstalled/Reinstalled without the extra liveries and have the same problem. No gauges. Anybody out there experienced with this that can recommend a fix?

Not sure how you lost your gauges after installing additional liveries. Before installing the additional liveries, I hope you started up FSX/FS9 to make sure the aircraft was properly installed with gauges and textures and sound properly working. The gauges are located in the panel.cfg within the aircraft (Wilco777) folder. In the aircraft.cfg, for each aircraft texture installed, there is a reference to what panel folder should be used if there are various modifications, like a panel.wide or a panel.normal. If you just have a panel.cfg in the folder, then this entry in the Aircraft.cfg would be left blank. Gauges for the Wilco777 should be located in the Gauges folder.

Jim,

Thanks. It somehow corrected itself (not really). I tried several approaches and one of them not sure which, eventually worked. Now if I can find out how to activate the weather radar that is supposed to come with the airplane I'll be set.

On a separate subject. I had to change computers and recently re-installed FS9 and FSX on the new machine. Seems in FS9 the ATC voice used to change, rotating between several "American English" voice sets. I have been stuck on an "Austrailian English" voice set for the ATC Controller, and can't seem to find a way to fix it. Tried to fix in the game and in the .cfg to no avail. Any suggestions?

Ed

PS. I see you live in Woodbridge. I lived there for about 13 years. In Ft. Lauderdale now.

Unfortunately there are no other voice sets for the ATC Controller. Only thing you can change is the pilots voice. A lot of people are upset over this. I have turned off the sound for ATC and no longer use it as I purchased ProATC-X which does have different ATC voices and more and more are being made by individual users. It's expensive (around $60) and it was just released a couple of months ago with a lot of bugs. Several of us have been working with the developer to make this an outstanding ATC program. It has background ATC capabilities too. It still needs some work but it's a lot better than when it was first released. Here is the link for more info - http://pointsoftware.de/proatcx_e/index.html.

I don't own the Wilco 777 (although I think I did back in the FS9 days). PMDG is getting ready to release their 777 and I look forward to that. I use to have a lot of respect for Wilco as they were an outstanding developer back in the FS9 days but upgrading to FSX hasn't always been the best.

Yes, in Woodbridge (actually in the Lake Ridge area). Not sure I would want to live in Florida these days as I heard there was a Python problem, an alligator problem, a crocodile issue, hurricanes and tornadoes. LOL! I have friends down in the Tampa and Orlando areas and they have had no problems with the problems I mentioned (so far).

Best regards,

Jim
