June 24, 200421 yr With all the topics already out there, this has probably been explained. If it has, please reply with the link to the appropriate topic so I can find the information. If not, I'd like for someone to explain how to avoid scenery conflicts in FS2004. For example, let's say I have a certain addon mesh texture, USAroads, and a Simflyer airport. How do I avoid conflicts between the three when I'm near the airport? The installation instructions for each will no doubt tell you where to install the files, but very few will tell you how to avoid conflicts with other addon products. Thanks to all my fellow simmers in advance!
June 24, 200421 yr I'm not sure there is a one-size-fits-all answer to this question. There are so MANY variations and possible conflicts that can occur. IMO your best bet is to keep notes of what you have installed. I generally make notes to a specific file's ReadMe as to when and where I installed something. Then as soon as I've added a scenery or whatever, I go and check it out to see if there is any obvious conflict. Sometimes a ReadMe WILL mention whether a scenery is compatible with... say for instance, Justin Tyme's FSGenesis USA landclass or one (or more) of his meshes. I pay attention to the ReadMe files. If you come up with a way to track conflicts, feel free to share with the rest of us. :D-Lindy :-rotor:-wave
