MD-11/DC-10/L1011

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of any good triengine payware planes. I know of the Perfect Flight MD-11.....but it doesnt look so good. Anyone have any suggestions?

Don't know about payware- I use Mike Stone's model. But there is a great panel available at http://www.omwings.com/TriStar.htm It's unfortunately no longer free- 5 or 12 euros depending on where you live. The engineer's station is not only functional, but necessary if starting from a cold cockpit. There are 12 or 13 manuals for this panel, ni German, but translations are available.

Thanks for the response but I found a nice DC-10 Im now looking forward to. If you want to check it out you can look at www.ab-simulations.com

MD 11 panel - Bill Grawboskis MD-11 is the sure winner, although their is no true answer whether it will be freeware or payware, he seems to have many beta testers and real pilots backing it up. He has a forum over at FsNordic (http://www.fsnordic.net, go to discussion and then find the project erj forum, which is the section where he is located)Real working FMC and panel, but no aircraft includedL1101 - Well Pilots is "creating" one but they seem to be dead, a couple of weeks ago one of their programmers offered the panel for free from his site, but did not know he had to pay for file-transfer, so now he offeres it for $5 by CD. Many people want him to upload it to AVSIM.Hope This Helps :) This is the best of my knowledge currently regarding these aircrafts :)

**Cheap plug for SGA** ;-) Our DC-10-30 for fs2004, panel and sounds is by far the best freeware dc-10 to hit the internet. The FDE is pilot authenticated, sounds are real and the panel is updated to meet the preformance of the dc-10.http://sgair.net/aircraft.htm

It's nice, but Im having too much fun with the A300-600 right now!!!

Hehe. I do like the SGA DC-10. But I love virtual cabins, and the DC-10 I found is gonna have one =D. I am currently flying SGA DC-10s though =) and I must say, it is very good for freeware! You should add a VC and Cabin and I would be all set =P

MD-11, I don't think you need any payware when IFDG's is free. Outstanding AC, model and FDE. You can find it in the Avsim library or in the IFDG web. Try it you will not regret. The best panel for the MD-11 is Captain Alain. It's a little difficult to find, but do a search in Google and you'll get it.DC-10 SGA is quite acceptable.L1011 There is new model to get here in Avsim. I haven't tried it but the comments are only goo.Leo

The members of SGA have mixed feelings about DVC and VC. Also don't forget the huge amount of time and resources its takes to create an accurate DVC or VC.

Yes, I know it would take alot of work. Thats why I want the payware though, because it does have the VC and Cabin. But your DC-10 is by far the best DC-10 out so far. Only thing missing is the VC and Cabin...oh well its still really fun to fly =)

the only thing holding me back from these beautiful planes is the lack of a VC. ever since I tweaked out my friends powerful computer, theres just no feeling like you get flying any airplane in the VC. Too bad the only payware one is perfect flights, and got a few big annoying problems (VC not aligned with exterior model which causes landing to be interesting since the center of gravity isnt what you think it is when flying in the VC since its so far back compared to the real nose of the plane) Those freeware planes look beautiful, I hope in the next version somebody will be willing to make a DVC to complete a great package! Even charging a small price, like 5-10 bucks, for the DVC model would be definately worth it.
