July 1, 200421 yr I've just started working on an addon scenery for FS9 - it's the disused Thorney Island airfield on the south coast of the UK just east of Portsmouth.( Not in FS9 )While doing the basic ground work I've noticed an odd thing in the FS9 scenery and I wonder if anyone would like to check and tell me what they see. If you are interested,go to N50.50.14/W000.56.02 ( On the peninsula called Thorney Island just East of Portsmouth,Hampshire) you will see two rivers joining in a "Y " shape and flowing right across the peninsula( a distance of maybe 1 mile. Here on my machine they are in a ravine and flow uphill each end to the sea. Please say whether you have any UK mesh installed ,if so which one and whether you get the same effect.MTIADave
July 2, 200421 yr -"Here on my machine they are in a ravine and flow uphill each end to the sea."-You may be seeing the negative (-10) offset for the streams in the terrain.cfg file. You can change the value or set it to flat, it will affect all the streams worldwide. I've seen this discussed in the scenery forum, you might check there for alternative solutions.-------//Stream Lines[Texture.1024] // stream lines / unknown / perennialType=1Size=4ExcludeAutogen=1MaskClassMap=3Textures=RiverSU.bmpoffset=-10[Texture.1025] // stream lines / unknown / non-perennialType=1Size=4ExcludeAutogen=1MaskClassMap=3Textures=RiverSU.bmpoffset=-10-------Kurt M
July 2, 200421 yr Thanks to both for the replies...........Uwer- that looks pretty good and fairly close to the real thing - I guess they used Multimap as a basis - look here........http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=198443#198483That is the same picture as I am using to work from for the layouts. One problem I have noticed is that the default FS9 UK scenery is very slightly out of place ( lat/long). I've had to shift the positions about 400 yds from the true position to get things lined up - otherwise the runways are partly over water!.Kurt M- thanks for the info - it's not a problem I've noticed anywhere else before and in any event, I can alter just that area by extending the Flatten switch for my Thorney project northward by the few hundred yards it needs to include the river. If it ever gets finished it will ,I hope ,be T I as it was in the 60/70s- but don't hold your breath !Dave
