July 7, 200421 yr Hi All,Can I reduce the size of the Strobe and navigation lights using a scalar command line in a cfg file? Thanks for any helpAl
July 7, 200421 yr I don't think that is possible. One thing that might be, although I have no idea how, would be to modify the effects files.
July 10, 200421 yr Yes you can, though if you alter the default FX files forthese lights, then all aircraft will display them....Make a copy of the FX file (found in the "effects" folder)...thenrename it to be pertainent to the AC in question...open it with "notepad"...then edit and save....open the pertainent AC cfg and edit the [lights] sectionto reflect the new filename...In the FX file, default strobe as example:[Library Effect]Lifetime=5Version=2.00Radius=-1Priority=0[Properties]Spot=1Tower=1Map=1[Emitter.0]Lifetime=0.00, 0.00Delay=0.00, 0.00Bounce=0.00No Interpolate=1Rate=5.00, 5.00X Emitter Velocity=0.00, 0.00Y Emitter Velocity=0.00, 0.00Z Emitter Velocity=0.00, 0.00Drag=0.00, 0.00X Particle Velocity=0.00, 0.00Y Particle Velocity=0.00, 0.00Z Particle Velocity=0.00, 0.00X Rotation=0.00, 0.00Y Rotation=0.00, 0.00Z Rotation=0.00, 0.00X Offset=0.00, 0.00Y Offset=0.00, 0.00Z Offset=0.00, 0.00Pitch=0.00, 0.00Bank=0.00, 0.00Heading=0.00, 0.00[Particle.0]Lifetime=0.01, 0.01Type=19X Scale=1.00, 1.00 /this is the size of the "flash" in metersY Scale=1.00, 1.00 /this is the size of the "flash" in metersZ Scale=0.00, 0.00X Scale Rate=0.00, 0.00Y Scale Rate=0.00, 0.00Z Scale Rate=0.00, 0.00Drag=0.00, 0.00Color Rate=0.00, 0.00X Offset=0.00, 0.00Y Offset=0.00, 0.00Z Offset=0.00, 0.00Fade In=0.00, 0.00Fade Out=0.00, 0.00Rotation=0.00, 0.00Static=1Face=1, 1, 1[ParticleAttributes.0]Blend Mode=2Texture=fx_2.bmpBounce=0.00Color Start=100, 100, 150, 200Color End=100, 100, 150, 0Jitter Distance=0.00Jitter Time=0.00uv1=0.00, 0.00uv2=0.50, 0.50X Scale Goal=0.00Y Scale Goal=0.00Z Scale Goal=0.00Extrude Length=0.00Extrude Pitch Max=0.00Extrude Heading Max=0.00[Emitter.1]Lifetime=0.00, 0.00Delay=0.00, 0.00Bounce=0.00No Interpolate=1Rate=5.00, 5.00X Emitter Velocity=0.00, 0.00Y Emitter Velocity=0.00, 0.00Z Emitter Velocity=0.00, 0.00Drag=0.00, 0.00X Particle Velocity=0.00, 0.00Y Particle Velocity=0.00, 0.00Z Particle Velocity=0.00, 0.00X Rotation=0.00, 0.00Y Rotation=0.00, 0.00Z Rotation=0.00, 0.00X Offset=0.00, 0.00Y Offset=0.00, 0.00Z Offset=0.00, 0.00Pitch=0.00, 0.00Bank=0.00, 0.00Heading=0.00, 0.00[Particle.1]Lifetime=0.01, 0.01Type=19X Scale=0.20, 0.20 /this is the size of the "light" in metersY Scale=0.20, 0.20 /this is the size of the "light" in metersZ Scale=0.00, 0.00X Scale Rate=0.00, 0.00Y Scale Rate=0.00, 0.00Z Scale Rate=0.00, 0.00Drag=0.00, 0.00Color Rate=0.00, 0.00X Offset=0.00, 0.00Y Offset=0.00, 0.00Z Offset=0.00, 0.00Fade In=0.00, 0.00Fade Out=0.00, 0.00Rotation=0.00, 0.00Static=1Face=1, 1, 1[ParticleAttributes.1]Blend Mode=2Texture=fx_2.bmpBounce=0.00Color Start=200, 200, 255, 255Color End=200, 200, 255, 0Jitter Distance=0.00Jitter Time=0.00uv1=0.00, 0.00uv2=0.50, 0.50X Scale Goal=0.00Y Scale Goal=0.00Z Scale Goal=0.00Extrude Length=0.00Extrude Pitch Max=0.00Extrude Heading Max=0.00Try adjusting the above noted values, each pair havingthe same mathematical number.....CAVEAT!!!messing with these files willy-nilly can cause an error message toappear when loading the Sim....http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/67502.gif[email protected]
