How do I edit aircraft cfg. file to display new livery?

Featured Replies

I recently downloaded a paint livery for the Embraer170v3. I don't know what the aircraft cfg. file should read. The instructions state to edit the aircraft cfg. file just as you would any other paint. The current cfg. reads, texture=house.

Annoying, isn't it, Victor! When READMEs are written by people who have done it a hundred times, they forget that some of us are very new to the game.Anyway .... copy the entire (flightsim.0) section (it's in square brackets, but if I write those here the name will disappear) at the top of whatever AIRCRAFT.CFG file you are modifying. There may be more than one section, but just copy one. Then paste it in directly underneath. Then ...Change (flightsim.0) to (flightsim.1)Change the title= line to something else e.g. title=Embraer 170 new paintChange texture=house to texture=whateveryournewtexturefolderiscalledChange the variation= line to variation=whateveryourplaneisSave the file. You're done.A note to clarify a couple of points: every title= line must be different when you add liveries. Also, to give you an example of the texture= line, if you have a new folder called texture.brazil which you are adding to the aircraft, then this line would be changed to read texture=brazilAm I clear?Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg
