July 12, 200421 yr I need a little help with this neat little add-on. How do I get rid of the GA generated flights that fs9 produces. I can see all the flights from GA-Traffic but the ones from the default traffic file is also there. It's a real eye-sore to see planes labeled Nxxxxx when I'm in Denmark and all the other GA's are label OY-xxx.Regards-Mikkel
July 12, 200421 yr Am I the only one experiencing this, or is there no solution to this problem?-Mikkel
July 12, 200421 yr Over at PAI they have a utility that removes classes of FS default flights.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
July 13, 200421 yr By design, these installer files only operate on the Traffic_PAI.bgl file. The add and remove installers for commercial, GA, and vintage default aircraft all work this way.Mikkel, you need to rename the file named traffic030528.bgl that Microsoft placed in the Flight Simulator 9Sceneryworldscenery folder. I'd recommend renaming it something like ORIGINAL_traffic030528.lgb or a similar name that has a tag other than .bgl. If it ends in .bgl in that folder, FS will use it. You'll lose all the commercial and vintage flights as well, but (as Jim suggested) head on over to Project AI as they've compiled packages to remove or replace the vintage, commercial, and/or GA default AI flights if you want them back, all put in a file it generates called Traffic_PAI.bgl (leaves your original unchanged). They also have a remarkable set of installers for AI passenger airlines, cargo lines, historical airlines (out of business - only 4 represented right now), and 2 military packages (DC9 models). All self-installing, easy enough to remove if it doesn't meet your needs, and (best of all) FREE. :-)Hope this helps,Kevin
July 13, 200421 yr Thanks Kevin...how about if I just decompile the default traffic file and remove the GA from the txt file and then compile it again?-Mikkel
July 13, 200421 yr You can do that. I have done that type of operation before by decompiling and editing the flightplans030528.txt file to delete all commercial flights. Export the data to a spreadsheet or similar app and sort by AC#. Then re-save the sorted data as a comma delimited text file and simply remove the undesired flights by the AC# truckload. Then recompile and enjoy. However, I think it's much easier (though it'll cost you a little bandwidth) to go the Project AI route. Both ways work; it's your call.Well wishes either way,Kevin
