July 15, 200421 yr Hi all,I Use Ultimate traffic, happy user indeed. I recall some time ago that the textures and models of AI (UT and PAI) can be downzised (textures) and that better models (Aiaardvark) are available... Did a search and found nothing conclusive... does anybody have any info or link to share there? My goal is to keep my actual % of ai, and improve performance on texture loading displaying. and YES save a couple FPS here and there. Thanks guysSTART EDIT**(I know how to do use a graphic program... what I need to know is the best settings 16 bit, eliminate Alpha Channel, Texture size etc..)END EDIT**
July 15, 200421 yr Hi Gabriel,I didn't recomend downsizing the textures of the UT and PAI planes anymore. This wouldn't speed up much, but may look bad. If you can use imageviewer from the Microsoft SDK you can downsize the pictures. Or you can use the downsizing function of 'GA-Traffic'.
July 15, 200421 yr I'm also a happy UT user, but I'm also looking to replace a few of the planes. Not that it's a problem in most places, but in Atlanta, with 100% traffic, the fluid motion can be a bit degraded if I taxi past the parking areas full of jets. I know it's a lot to ask of my system and FS9 (after all, KATL is the world's busiest airport), and I'm not complaining. But I did see this comparison of framerates with AI planes from different sources:http://perso.wanadoo.fr/gotorun/AIframe.htmlAnd based on that data I've replaced the UT Delta 737-200s, 757s, and 767s with those available from AI Aardvark. The AIA jets do in fact look better, but Atlanta has a relatively low proportion of those jets in the UT world, and an abundance of 737-800s, MD-80s, and CRJs that are not available (or at least I haven't yet found them) from AIA. So I can't confirm or deny whether the AIA jets improve the frame rates, since those I've installed make up such a minority of the jets at the airport.I'm just starting to look for AI MD-80s and CRJs with better frame rates than the PAI/UT jets, and with Delta liveries available, so if anyone knows if they exist, I'd appreciate a tip.I have no experience with reducing texture size, so I can't advise you there.
