July 15, 200421 yr Hello again!I am still annoyed by the popping-out-of-focus FS2002/FS9 ground textures.I am the only one to be bothered by it?And, surely, there must be something you could do about them, but what?Decompress/compress the BMP-files; repaint them all????I am almost willing to pay for help on this matterand hoping that someone will reply with serious, constructive help.Best regards,Hans HermanssonSweden
July 17, 200421 yr Hans, there was a well-known problem in FS2002 known as dynamic blurred textures. This occurs because the sim does not update the mip map resolution quickly enough. The textures may be fine initially, but after a few minutes' flying the textures become blurred. The faster you fly, the worse the problem becomes. You can do a quick check: when the textures are blurred, pause the sim and watch the textures. If, after a few tens of seconds, the textures return to normal, then it probably is the problem I described. You should find a lot of discussion of this if you search the forums for 'dynamic blurred'. In my experience FS9 does not suffer this problem to the same degree, but it can occur if you use addons such as photorealistic textures or possibly USA Roads. Things can be improved by using a low frame rate lock (in FS2002, at least) and reducing the terrain complexity. Best regards, Chris
