July 15, 200421 yr Paddy, if you are reading this ...I received an email notification from Avsim that you have posted the following somewhere:<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.phpYou have following message from paddy.------------------------------------------------------Subject: Feathering a DC3 engineMessage: Hello Mark,Can you give me the correct handling order for feathering a DC3 engine and restarting it again. MSFS doesn't state anyting about this important subject.Kind regards,Paddy.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>As you'll note, it doesn't say in which forum and a search turns up nothing! So sorry if you've been waiting on a reply.DC-3 guru Trev Morson wrote up an interesting procedure for this which he posted on the news page at DC-3 Airways. I suggest you pop over there (www.dc3airways.com) and scroll down in LATEST NEWS to find his article, which is more articulate on this subject than I could be even if I tried!Good luck. If you can't find it, you could always write to Trev within his site at www.douglasdc3.com and ask him for a copy.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP FleetDC-3 AirwaysP.S. Single engine operation doesn't work quite as it should with the default aircraft, by the way; she even banks the wrong way when flying on one; but the MAAM-SIM boys spent a lot of time getting it right on the new release. If you have it, try it and see. Shut down the respective engine with your ECU, kill relevant switches and feather, then wind up the other engine as instructed. She'll fly along very happily at 95KIAS as she should.http://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
