July 15, 200421 yr I've had good success in the recent past loading freeware planes from here at Avsim, and have been enjoying them for the better part of 2 months now.. Anyways, last night I tried to load up erick cantu's 737-200 using all of the instructions and download's available at tinmouse.org Well, this didn't go so well for me.. I freaked out when I first booted up fs9, and it gave me the error for fssound.dll. Well, I didn't have too much of an attachment to any of the freeware planes I'd downloaded, so I simply uninstalled FS9, and reinstalled it.. Well, I go to load it for the very first time after the reinstall, and gives me the SAME ERROR! Right off the bat, without any freeware stuff downloaded.. Now I read up on it, and realize I have to change (or is it add) a line to fs9.cfg to get this fssound.dll to work properly. Only problem is; where the heck is fs9.cfg?!? I can't find it in my Flight Simulator folder on my computer, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled FS9 since then again, and still the same problem. How can I go about doing a 'clean' uninstall and install of fs9 so that I can start with a clean/fresh slate? This is really stressing me out, as the only 3 aircraft I want are this 737-200, the Real Air 172, and the Scout.I've followed the steps on tinmouse.org to a 'T' and even then the folder names and what-not don't really line up with what's in my computer. For example, it says "Install the air files into the b737_200_ffx folder" Well, that folder doesn't exist.. I just have the del Sol N92SN folder in my Aircraft Folder of FS9Sorry for the long post guys.. I just really want to get a clean fresh slate here, and install these 3 aircraft.. the Scout and the RealAir 172 aren't a problem; I had those 2 installed previously and loved them both.
July 16, 200421 yr Thank you very much for that link.. I added that line to fs9.cfg that I was instructed to at www.tinmouse.org It appears that the correct soundfile is now working with the plane.. However, it is still using the old panel. I have downloaded the panel from tinmouse and followed the instructions. What have I got to do to use that panel rather than the default one?
July 16, 200421 yr Hmmm...In checking the Readme, I believe WinZip needs to be pointed here:C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9Once done unzipping check to make sure the folder "panel.b732" is here:C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9aircraftfsfsconvGreg
July 16, 200421 yr Did you check to see if the "panel.b732" is in the aircraftfsfsconv folder?Richard states in the readme to point WinZip to "FS2004". You want to point WinZip toward the Flight Simulator 9 folder, and make sure "Use Folder names" is enabled in WinZip.Failing that, simply unzip to some temp folder and then you should have this in the temp folder: b732.xxxxxxx.xxx.fs2004aircratffsfsconvpanel.732. Simply move the folder "panel.732" to the fsfsconv folder inside FS9.Greg
July 16, 200421 yr HiI downloaded the B737-200 yesterday also and got into all sorts of trouble installing it. I eventually sorted it out. The one missing link in the read-me's was to change the panel alias in the panel.cfg file to point to the panel.732 folder that you created inside fsfsconv. By default the panel.cfg is aliased to the B737-400 panel. As soon as I changed that to read: alias=fsfsconvpanel.B732 it came right.
