Wierd...AI point at the sky....

Featured Replies

OK...odd title I know, sorry, but I have noticed a couple of oddities whereby my AI aircraft will flip rapidly from horizontal to vertical when using a couple of planes; Charles Dayhuff's very nice L1011 Tristar, and also the KC-135 from the Abacus Military aircraft collection/FS Repaint package. When taxiing around any airport using either of these two planes, the AI will suddenly go nose-up and be buried half way up their fusalage. Also, AI landing and taking-off will alternate from being normal to suddenly nose-up and even land like this!!These are both planes that are advertised as being FS2004 ready, and appear perfectly normal from external examination, and with a decent panel, seem to fly well too.Annoyingly though, with this crazy 'bug', it makes it difficult to want to use either of these aircraft with their surreal forward views!!I know it's not a panel issue as I have tried several different panels that I know to work perfectly, and so I guess it must be a model issue somehow, or an FS 9 compatibility issue.Anyone got any ideas? Seen this before? I'm particularly miffed as I spent hours...days even, doing a nice RAF Mildenhall paint job on the KC-135...... :(These are the only two aircraft that I've tried that have this problem, out of the hundreds that I must have downloaded/purchased etc.... My PSS, IFDG, POSKY, PMDG, and default planes are fine and don't have this wierdness!!If anyone can offer any good advice, or a fix, many thanks.......Steve.

Aw, c'mon!!Surely someone must have an idea...please?Two nice planes with smart new coats of paint all ready to fly, and yet peculiar AI activity out of the front view...it's only from the front view - side views and external are fine.....I know it's not the panels....tried in different aircraft with no problems.....it must be some hang-over from an FS2002 to FS2004 conversion. If the 'bug' lies in the model then I guess that's that, but if it's something in the aircraft config file then I'm happy to try...

when i encounterd it with the c130 it was a fde air file problem not designed for ai i put a ai one in and it never happened again for that aircraftshane

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not 100% clear on what you mean.....the aircraft I mentioned before that 'cause' the problem are not AI planes; they are for flying: the KC-135 by Rey Lopez (available in the Abacus Military Collection), and Charles Deyhuffs' L1011-500 (non AI version). The effected aircraft, ie: the ones that flip about, are AI.....many models from Project AI, a couple of FSP and AI Aardvark planes. The problem is only seen when looking directly forward. Side or external views do not cause the AI to flip.

I can't offer any solutions to this problem but I had exactly the same problem with the Eurowings ATR in FS2002. In addition, some of the AI planes on the ground at airports were about 5 times lifesize and half sumerged in the ground with noses pointing straight up. Very bizarre!! Like you, all this only occurred in 2D front view. When I contacted Aerosoft they told me that it was an issue with their panel in FS2002 and it would be fixed in FS2004. It has but no solution to the FS2002 problem. Are you using FS2002? It might be worth contacting the makers of the planes that appear to create the problem.
