Help me decide!

Featured Replies

Greetings everyone,I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I need you (yes, YOU!) to help me decide something. I've been considering buying either the PSS Airbus Pro (to use with IFDG's great planes) or the PMDG 737NG. As an undecisive person when it comes to buying games (I know, simming's not a game!), I've been weighing the pros and cons of both: PSS's product requires a joystick (don't own one and don't necessarily want to buy one now) while PMDG does not. PSS's is on sale, and PMDG is not (lucky as I am, it's going to be on sale the very nanosecond after I buy it). And it goes on and on... So, I'd like to know which product you recommend, and why. I would appreciate it. (This is not about pitting PSS against PMDG, or vice-versa, by the way.)Thanks,Nicolas in CYOW

This has been discussed at length in the past, if you do a search you will find a few threads discussing the very same issue you have. Also, can I just ask why you think the A320 needs a stick and the 737 doesnt?CheersDan.

Thanks Dan,I just thought I had some kind of particular case, appears not. As for the stick, it's quite simple: I've been told on the PSS forums that the Airbus Pro absolutely requires a stick, while, on the PMDG forums, I have been told that the 737NG does not.Nicolas in CYOW

Defintely the PMDG 737 NG. I have the 600/700 but not the 800/900 and the plane is a beauty. All the systems are wonderfully done and the visual details are stunning. Ive heard the PSS has some bugs, but Im not too sure. I would go with the 737NG, it has 50+ free liveries on their website and a nice manual. Hope this helps a little.

Buy a cheap stick and get the 737, you wont regreat itDan.

Hello Nicolas,My personal advice is to go for the PMDG, for one simple reason: the external model. I know you plan to use the PSS airbuses with the IFDG models, but it's always better to use the "out-of-the-box" models, as they are better integrated with the rest of the product...And you cannot go wrong with PMDG, it's a very nice airplane....Regards,

pmDG 737 Hands down...It has a "Feel" about it, and even though I perfer the A320 over 737 when it comes to real life, I think the pmDG product is way better:PAlso, buy a cheap stick, it's better than the keyboard! ($5 would be better:P)

Same as what all the other Folks said. PMDG is the ONLY way to go. I have the PSS A320 and I really don't like it at all. Personal opinion, but I'm a Die Hard PMDG737 Fan!

what every one else says. But do get a stick, even a cheapy. Makes all the difference, it really does. You'll wonder how you made out without it. billg

I flew the PSS A320 most of the time in FS2002. Since getting the PMDG 737-6/7/8/900 for FS2004 I haven't even installed the PSS A320 (with the patch), PMDG's 737 IS THAT GOOD!But if it's between these two AND getting a stick, get the stick first!Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes."
