Server Descriptions Don't Always Show

The server descriptions don't always show up in FSX. Sometimes it will flash for a second and disappear again. This happened on my old PC and now my new laptop. I have a fresh install with all the service packs and no add-ons. Is this just the nature of the beast or is there a fix for this?
