Rudder is Waayy Too Sensitive...

Featured Replies

Can't seem to use the "settings" menu to tone down the ridiculous effect of the rudder (and presumeably all planes). Tries to cut sensitivity to zero but still the rudder is "wild" and way to sensitive to be realistic.Using a TM Cougar with TM Elite Rudder Pedals...Please help...

Don't set sensitivity in the sim... CCP is much more powerful. I use a -4 Curve setting in CCP for my Elites.Cheers,Greg

Thanks Greg, I figured you'd reply... and I appreciate your help...You are right, I'll try to use that setting... Right now it's crazy... 1/3 of the rudder throw sends a 182 about 45 degrees to the flight path...

You can turn down the rudder sensitivity in the tuning section of theaircraft.cfg file. Here's an example:[flight_tuning]cruise_lift_scalar=1.0parasite_drag_scalar=1.6induced_drag_scalar=1.0elevator_effectiveness=1.0aileron_effectiveness=1.0rudder_effectiveness=1.0pitch_stability=1.0roll_stability=1.0yaw_stability=1.0elevator_trim_effectiveness=1.0aileron_trim_effectiveness=1.0rudder_trim_effectiveness=1.0 In this case, reduce the value of rudder_effectiveness. An advantage of this method is that you can apply different sensitivity settings to different aircraft so you can get them just right.... Best regards, Chris
