How to edit aircraft fuel ?

Featured Replies

Hy guys, i want to edit my Challenger 300 by adding "aditional fuel tanks". To be more precise, i want to increase it's range by increasing amount of fuel it can take. Can someone explain me on how to do that ?

Open the Challenger 300 in Plane-Maker. Go to the menu item "Standard > Weight and Balance'. There are four tabs. The first tab is where you specify the quantity of fuel, in pound (lbs) usually...this is the 'fuel load" value. The second tab is where you specify the location of the fuel tanks and how much each tank holds. The value "tank # ratio" determines how much of the fuel (from tab 1) goes into that tank. The sum of all the ratios must add up to 1. So if you add fuel tanks, then you must readjust all the tank ratio values. The location of the fuel tanks affect the handling of the aircraft. If you simply want to extend the range, I would recommend a single tank on the centerline and at the same longitudinal location at the center of gravity (found on the first tab). This will pretty much keep the handling the same as it is now, but extend your range.

There is one possible caveat. If the aircraft uses a plugin like SASL, then it is possible that the author customizes the fuel in some way. it is a remote possibility, but there none the less. I certainly would try it anyhow. Don't forget the adjust all those tank ratios to add up to 1.
