FS9 Stutters on Ground Only

Featured Replies

Hello,I can load up a flight from any airport, taxi to the active and proceed to take off with no stutters in frame rates. But when I land at a airport, my frame rates drop to 1. This happens at any airport I land at and with any plane. The only way I have been able to stop this is to restart the game. I have FSRealtime, ActiveSky 2004 and USA Roads all on. Any help please? Please? Please?ElroyAlso, IF I can get the plane back up in the air, the frame rates return to normal as soon as I leave the ground.

An obvious question perhaps but what happens when you uninstall the add-ons?

Hello Elroy,Do you by any chance have an MS Sidewinder FF joystick?I had the same problem and it went away when I turned off the forces completely.Regards,RogerPS. Come to think about it. I think I read somewhere that it will be enough to turn something called "Ground bumps" or similar off on the joystick forces tab in the sim, but I haven't tested that.

Hello again, I uninstalled USA Roads, then went for a flight. The stutters went away. Reinstalled USA Roads and the stutter was still not present. Yet!!. I do have a MS FF joystick but haven't had a chance to try your suggestion Roger. I will try later this evening though. I hope the fix is as simple as that. Thanks guys!Elroy

Elroy,I have also had stutters with USA Roads. I do NOT have a problem with framerates -- just stutters.I posted a comment on the Roads forum, but did not receive any help. A couple of other guys reported that they have also had these stutters.I have noticed that there is a lot of disk activity when running Roads. There seems to be some issue with caching or loading of the roads, but I cannot put my finger on it. We may need to adjust something in the FS9.cfg file, but I am not sure at this point.Using an AMD 64 3400+ system here, with the expected other hardware.Wilson

Hi,I have removed all force feedback from the settings for the joystick and so far it seems to have helped alot. We will have to go for a long flight tomorrow and see if this cured the problem for good. I hope the solution is a simple as this. Thank you everyone!Elroy
