Quick Transmit request idea

Featured Replies

Gonna send this over the the tell MS mailbox but was wanting to get an idea if you guys think this would be a good feature. Many times when you communicate with the default ATC its for approval stuff. So I was thinking since I have my open ATC window hot keyed to the key mic on my CH Product yoke that if there was a way to enable a quick response feature that would allow the user not to have to search for the key to push to respond. How it would work would be after the user enables the feature in the setting menu once the ATC window is opened the item or number that is set to be the most likely response would be highlighted out of the selection. Then by simply closing the window it would select that item. If the user doesn't want to use the highlighted item like to request a different approach then while the selection window is open the user can pick that selection. But if the user wants the highlighted item close the window and its all set. This would make IFR flights extremely efficient with handoffs. It would also simulate talking to ATC to be more real for users that might have assigned the open ATC window to the key mic button on a yoke. There would be only two things needed for this system to work and that would be to offer an enable/disabled auto tune radio feature for those user who like to tune there own radio and transponder codes instead of the computer doing it and a queuing method so if you auto select an item and close the window while the radio freq is being used then your response would be qued to when the channel is free and you wouldn't step on others nor have to keep opening and closing the window. So what do you guys think? Needed or not.Kilstorm
