August 2, 200421 yr (1) I like the improved terrain that comes with RealScene, but I'm not too fond of the landclass scenery. Is there a way I can install only the 38.2m terrain, without the landclass?(2) If I want to use replacement ground textures (for example, desert_woods_2004.zip in the Avsim library), do I need to do anything differently since I have RealScene landclass scenery installed? I installed the wood/desert textures into the /FS9/World/Scenery/Texture folder as I was supposed to, but I don't see them while flying. They're not showing up.Thanks in advance for any suggestions.-Jason
August 3, 200421 yr Hi Jason,(1) You should be able to uninstall your RealScene scenery through the Windows Control Panel Add/Remove Programs function, then reinstall it, de-selecting the landclass scenery install option in the Custom Setup menu.(2)I am not sure about the custom terrain textures since I am not using them, but there is an update for RealScene 2004 that updates the landclass for the Western U.S. to use better desert textures than the original version. It can be found here: http://www.simpilot.com/DLOAD/RS-patch.zipEddie DenneyRealScene 2004
August 4, 200421 yr Thanks, Eddie for your reply. I figured out everything successfully. The terrain mesh is astounding! I set my TERRAIN_MAX_LEVEL setting to "20" in FS9.cfg (versus "21" before) and it seems to have improved the level of detail. I flew across the Great Basin desert of Nevada and was amazed at the number of hills and mountains that popped up. Very realistic. Nice work!-Jason
September 16, 200421 yr Eddie:Does your RealScene US Terrain Mesh Scenery for MFS 2002 work ok with MFS 2004? I'd had to waste your product I alrady purchased. Thank you,
