August 10, 200421 yr I have many sceneries installed in my FS2004 and I try to keep them organized by country. However, I discovered recently that I had a stand-alone scenery folder for a place I had originally titled "Matching Green" for which I seem to have misplaced the associated zip file including documentation. Thus I don't know a country. Does anyone recognize where Matching Green is located? It sounds like it logically should be in the United Kingdom or Australia or New Zedaland or even Canada but I just can't find it anywhere in the simulator's airport menu - most likely because it may not be an airport per se. Any help would be appreciated.Stan V.
August 10, 200421 yr Could it be something to do with RAF Matching Green?, an EX-RAF station in Essex in the UK?Dan.
August 10, 200421 yr Good clue - the bgl file doesn't contain either of the items you mentioned but there is a name, presumably the author's. His name is Paul Roberts and a quick search of the AVSIM database reveals that he has posted many scenery files, mostly for the UK. I have written directly to Paul and hopefully, he will solve this mystery soon. Dan's idea also has merit. There is a reference to a Matching Green Dispersal in one of the bgl files so an RAF base is likely. Being from the colonies, I'm just not very knowlegable about all the bases or ex-bases there.Stan V.
August 10, 200421 yr Well I'm happy I could at least get you that far.One thing I do, Is builf a Flight Plan for any scenery I add. Generally by author, but by contry or type of flight would also work. Either way I have flightplans that take me to all the add on scenery I have and make it easier to find airports/regions.
August 11, 200421 yr Try this mate >Location: Matching Green,Essex Great Britain Grid Ref:TL537112 X: 553800m Y: 211300m Lat: 51:46:44N (51.7789) Lon: 0:13:39E (0.2275) Also, I managed to find an overhead photo of it, you can see half the runway is still there, and there are impressions where the other half, and the other runway used to be.Dan.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/87475.jpg
