DHC Beaver Question, Please.

Featured Replies

I somewhat familure with the great success of the Beaver. Here is my question:1. The Kingair 350 (defualt) is a turbine engine like the DHC 3 super Otter (this going on my best way of saying this with out a quote from an article). The reason I say this is becuase the terms that I found in my search in the various FS9 articles seem to be different from what I see used in the forums.I thought it went like this:A. A piston engine that will have a carb heater.B. A piston engine that is fuel injected.C. A jet like engine with the shaft fixxed to a prop. I think I understand that this can be turbo-fan or turbo-prop. D. Thus what is turbine. a piston with fuel injection or a T-prop, or a T-fan, or a different beast all together.E. Please note I ealize there are exceptions to anything, I am trying to simply get a rough Idea to keep as a basic framework in the back of my head.I hope I did not over simplfy my question, agian the base knowledge of the basic types and the way to keep the terms used here in FS9 straight (as it seems they sometimes are used back and forth).Agian I have read the different articles, seen the different Glossary's, that explian specificaly the actual meanings of each. My goal is to gain a base reference to keep in my head (ie..is the three ways I mentioned the engines above anywhere near being on base, maybe in the correct woodlands?) I am agian trying to read the (what somtimes seem to be terms used back and forth), and make sence of them. I guess I am thinking just becuase the text books, and FS9 literature puts it a certian way, that it may be like many other hobby's and sports where there are terms used that those that have been around long enough know what the term means even if its not in the official literature.I hope this make sense, and thats for a rule of thumb to keep in mind as well as any other advise that is helpful.Mark.
