fokker 50 panel

Featured Replies

Hi folks,Yesterday I downloaded the Dreamwings Fokker 50 and the beautifullpanel made by Espen Oijordsbakken.I implemented the plane and panel in my MSFS2004.Everything looks great and works perfect EXCEPT for the panel-light.During a night-flight I cannot turn on the panel-light.I looked for a knob on the panel but could not find such.So I tried Shift+L ( wich works on all my other planes ) this made the panel-light flash for a moment, but it did not stay lightened.Trying this several times , makes my PC crash. When I use another panel folder ( like the panel from the Aerocommander )instead , I have a Fokker 50 with the wrong panel, but with a panellight. Is there anyone who can help me ( newbie ) out?RegardsLeen de Jager (The Netherlands)

Hello there Leen, my old Friend :)Maybe this can give you a clue.from the documentation :)"The Night lighting issues has not been resolved. Eventually, if you play around with the night lighting to much, it will crash FS. I still haven't figured this one out. This problem is related to the pedestal dome light and the main panel flood lights."Johnny"I'LL BE BACK"[div align=center]http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/josve/pmdg.jpg ][/div

Thanks pal,I must have overlooked the readme wich comes with the panel fix. This fix was released in october 2003 so I assume there is not much hope for any improvements.I`ll try to get in contact with Espen Oijordbakken and ask him. It`s nice to meet you at this forum as well Johnny.I think you are Bi-Simual too !Although I prefer the panels in FLYII , I am very happy with MSFSas my second Sim, especially for the great Dutch Scenery by NL2000.It has ,among all other Dutch airfields,a perfect copy of Rotterdam Airport, wich I visit almost every week.Playing with my Fokker 50 KLM, is almost like being there.Everything is so realistic.Even a small building ,in wich I was working in te late sixties, is present.Maybe I`ll do a repaint of the PH-WAP for MSFS one day.It will be the third time I paint this bird. The first time was when I painted the real thing in 1966.I think you know wich plane I mean. Then virtuality will be reality :)RegardsLeen

I'm a simoholic LOLThe panels in FS2004 has it's limitations versus the panels in Fly!!But...and there is a big but :)The panels from PMDG,FSD,Flight1,Dreamfleet and other top notch developers have become so good that they nearly matches Fly2.And on the scenery side as you of course wery well know....outstanding.With correct mesh, new textures etc etc, and the Norwegian airports addonI almost never uses Fly2 anymore.....And the aircraft I almost use exlusively is the PMDG 737NG that imho is the best addon ever.It holds the PMDG quality all the way,and if we thought the 757 they made for fly2 was good :) (and it really was a couple of years ago) the 737NG is soooo much better. It's a shame we haven't heard anything from Brandon about the Fly3 issue....Johnny"I'LL BE BACK"[div align=center]http://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/josve/pmdg.jpg ][/div

Hi Johnny,I found a very suitable resolution for the nightflying problem with the Foker 50.There is a very good panel available for the Fokker F27.I succeeded in implementing this panel in the Dreamwings F50.So a special levery for night-flying is born. These cockpits are not the same but very similar, as you know the F50is a kind of modernised and recreated F27.At least the" Fokker-Feeling" stays intact.GroetLeen
