thx for the reply greg, but allready saw that thread.. read many on the board till no avail...directx is checked gives no errors.. clean system.. installed drivers in proper order.. any1 else suggestions? SP1 is installed, SP2 NOT.

I would say that he may have some sort of configuration problem. If you go into the device manager are there any devices showing a problem? Also sometimes running the latest drivers for everything is not the best way to go, sometimes an older driver will provide better performance. First I would check the device manager and make sure everything is good, then remove FS9 delete all of the left behind files and re-install. Before installing any add-ons check the performance, if it is good then start adding the add-ons back in. If not post back here and I will walk you through some steps to find out what may be wrong. You missed to point of the link. The final solution was to install the motherboard drivers. Your friend may need to re-install the motherboard drivers based on his chip set(VIA,Sis and so on).Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

I should be here for another hour or so and then I am going to try and get some sleep, yes I have been up all night! I am in the process of building a website for a company which includes creating a logo from scratch, on top of that I am also building a PC for one customer, trouble shooting another and trying to price out the best systems for another 3 customers, so I have been busy tonight. I guess it is true that there is no rest for the wicked. Hopefully you can catch me before I go to bed but if not I am only going to get a couple of hours of sleep so I should be back soon. You can either post here or email me direct. Hopefully we can get your friend fixed up!Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg
