Reset flights & change red text in FS9.cfg?

Featured Replies

A while back I recall instructions for deleting some line out of the FS9 CFG so that it would rebuild your flights folder (replacing files that might have been deleted causing errors in loading a flight on startup.) Does anyone remember what must be removed to get FS9 to do this?I also recall being able to change the red box text you get when the brakes and parking brake are on. Am I correct in thinking that that i also somewhere inside of the FS9.cfg?Thanks

As to editing the content of the text in brake messages:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=167559&page=**********I'm not really sure I understand what you're asking for in the first question, but I'll take a stab at it. If you're trying to find a way to make sure you're using the default flight that shipped with FS9 so you can restore default flight settings and behavior from which other flights can be created, then edit the following line under the USERINTERFACE heading to read:C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9FlightsotherFLTSIMThat depends, of course on the location and name of your FS9 folder, but this restores your default flight to its original state. If you continue to have problems, you can try renaming your old FS9.cfg (to say, BKUP_FS9.CFG) and let FS9 build a new one the next time it starts up. Then make the changes you desire and test them as you go.Hope this helps,Kevin

I just read my first post and it was not that clear.1. I seem to have lost some files from my flights folder and each time I boot FS9 I get an error saying it cant find the files and it will now try to load the default flight. Even when I save a new flight and save it as the default I still get this message. I recall there being a line (I thought in FS9.CFG) that if removed FS9 would recreate that folder. Perhaps I should just try deleting the myflights folder and seeing what it does.On that topic I was no longer able to set a default flight of my own. I can save flights and load them, but FS9 has always been loading the default flight.2. For the Red text. I remember going someplace and easily changing the text that shows in red. For example I had changes "Parking Brake" to "PB" just to lower the impact the text has on the screen. I thought this was in FS9.CFG, but it seems to have been elsewhere. Thanks
