Locking Up

Featured Replies

I just upgraded my computer from a AMD 2400 to a P4 3.2 and when they upgraded they reinstalled XP Home.My problem now is when ever I get into FS9 and get into the aircraft the whole computer locks up and I have to turn off the switch on the back and than restart.I don't have this problem with any other programs so far as I just got it back yesterday.Does anyone have any ideas on what may be going on? Jeff,Did you reinstall FS9 after XP was installed? If so, recommend you uninstall and reinstall FS9. Make sure any anti-virus program is disabled during the install. Hope this helps.Jim

Jeff, Have you installed the latest drivers for your motherboard? In the past when I had this problem it was my video card drivers but since you have the latest drivers check the motherboard first. If that does not do it then I think that I would try to re-install the vid card drivers or even try an older driver. Sometimes the newest driver is not always the best driver. You could also re-install Direct X to see if that clears the problem. If you are still having problems let me know and I'll give you some more things to try.Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

If the suggestions above don't help - then it maybe worthwhile looking at your PSU-check the +3.3,+5 and +12 V lines are within 5% of the nominal.Dave
