August 25, 200421 yr It's always something. Installed CH rudder pedals today. Now with the Cessna 172 it goes back and forth between Differential Brakes and Brakes. What are they and what do I do to release them? Thanks.Louis
August 25, 200421 yr Hey Louis..If i understand correctly what you are referring to.. if you press (with the tip, not the whole pedal) one pedal left or right.. you get diff. breaking.. press both you use normal braking..thats normal. Differential braking system is used for tight turns. Braking either left or right wheel whilst leaving the other to rollBrian
August 25, 200421 yr BrianYes, you do understand what I was asking. The problem is that I can't seem to turn them off. The display switches from differential brakes to just brakes.Louis
August 26, 200421 yr Hi Louis,It has been a while since I configured toe brakes on the CH rudder pedals but I'll try to help. Go into Options > Assignments and Click on the Joystick Axis tab. Select the Rudder controller; this may be called Ch Controller 2, or a simalar name. Three axes should be configyred, Rudder, Left Brake, and Right Brake. Both brake axes should have the Reverse Axis checkbox checked. If that box is not checked, then no pressure on the pedals results in the brakes being fully applied and the "Brakes" message being displayed. Pressing either brake pedal releases that brake and results in a differetial brake situation.I hope that this is helpful to you. If not, then perhaps someone with more recent experience can help you more. I just thought of something else; I believe that Bob Church has some information on his Web site that may be usefull to you. Try www.stickworks.comR-
August 26, 200421 yr I have the CH pedals also, they were going crazy on me braking when I was not even using them and stering the plane to the left etc...I downloaded the CH manager from their site and calibrated them, you need to fine tune the sensitivity to your particular taste, but after that I am in Rudder Pedals heaven, everything works just fine now.hope this helps
