September 6, 200421 yr Well I don't know if this is worth a posting, but as of today I have disabled the phoney lens flare effect forever. :-)AlexP.S.: And the sun glare all along.
September 6, 200421 yr Hi Alex,Speaking as a photographer, lens flare is a very bad thing. While I know a few photogrphers who will occasionally include it in an image as artistic expression, the fact of the matter is that lens flare shows bad technique or low quality optics, or both.I have tens of thousands of $ wrapped up in high perf optics. I simply cannot ruin what they offer me by including lens flare in an image. Even the slightest bit of flare in one of my images means it's useless to me.Wouldn't bother me at all if lens flare wasn't included in the sim.Cheers,Greg
September 6, 200421 yr It is an effect I don't see as long as I don't look through a lens. And the sun glare, well the sun is so nicely rendered in FS that sometimes I feel tempted to get my sun glasses out. The sun glare effect ruins it for me.Alex
September 6, 200421 yr The sun glare would be better if it blocked the view out the windscreen and left the instruments. Most of the GA planes I've scooted around in could do with a decent plexiglass scrubbing and visibility can be decidedly iffy under certain lighting conditions but FS does the effect completely the wrong way IMHO.But that horrible lens flare effect is one that I wouldn't miss either, seeing as how I've never had it switched on, except by accident.
