September 14, 200421 yr Hi folks,i'm wondering if there's any way to influence the fuel flow of aircrafts by tweaking the "aircraft.cfg". One of my planes has an higher fuel flow than the real one. What effect do the lines "fuel_flow_gain" and "fuel_flow_scalar" have?Hopefully somebody knows more than myself.cheers!Tom
September 14, 200421 yr The fuel_flow_scalar is the one you want to tweak. It acts like a multiplier, so in your case, you'd want to make it a decimal value less than one, depending on how much fuel the aircraft is supposed to burn. However, other factors can influence fuel burn, such as drag factors. A good rule of thumb is to get the drag factors right first, then the engine power curves, then (if needed), the fuel_flow_scalar. However, it doesn't hurt adjusting the fuel flow scalar if you want to try for quick results. Fuel_flow_gain is somewhat mislabeled. It controls the engine spool up time--a larger value equals a faster spool up.-John
