FS2002 blurries driving me mad

Featured Replies

After reading the countless posts on this forum alone about this topic I seem to be no closer to solve this annoying problem, best explained in this screenshot...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/91544.jpgSystem - XP3000, 1GB DDR RAM, Radeon 9800 Pro, XP SP2.My Terrain section of the fs2002 config..[TERRAIN]TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=1.000000TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=20TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=40.500000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=40.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4I have tried - different video card drivers (currently using Catalyst 3.7 but have tried later Catalysts, Omega and DNA), different AA and anisotropy settings and of course diffent terrain.cfg settings - all of which dnt seem to make much difference; I still get the ridiculous 'boundary' between the textures and the blurred mess.Anyone help me?!Thanks

There are two kinds of blurred textures: static and dynamic. Try this simple experiment: when the textures are blurred, pause the sim and watch the textures. If they sharpen up after a few tens of seconds then it's the dynamic type. If they stay blurred indefinitely then it's the static type. If it's the dynamic problem, try setting a fairly low frame rate lock and reduce the terrain mesh complexity. Reducing other scenery settings may also help. If all else fails, try getting FS2004! I suffered from those annoying dynamic blurred textures in FS2002 but I was surprised to find there was virtually no sign of this problem in FS2004. Best regards, Chris
